Molecular Biology

The Molecular Biology faculty conduct research in genetics, gene regulation, DNA replication and repair, microRNAs, development and fertility, mitochondria function, cancer biology and cellular stress.

Department faculty teach Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Histology in the basic science curriculum of the School of Osteopathic Medicine. The faculty also comprise part of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in Stratford, presenting courses such as Stem Cell Biology, Cancer Biology, Genetics, and Bioinformatics. Faculty mentors sponsor the research conducted by doctoral and masters thesis candidates in the Graduate School. Research in the Department is funded by the NIH, NSF, American Cancer Society, The W.W. Smith Foundation, the Foundation of UMDNJ, and other public and private organizations.
