The Department of Public Safety is moving closer to initiating the NXT Communicator emergency notification system. It will allow the University to send emergency emails and text messages to members of the UMDNJ community who subscribe to the service.

This system is one part of an overall emergency alert warning system the University is developing.  Currently you can check for alerts at my.umdnj.edu and also at the Department of Public Safety and UMDNJ Emergency Management websites.

The Department of Public Safety requests your assistance in beta testing the subscription component of this program. Once the subscription component has been finalized, we will inaugurate a University-wide campaign to advertise to the University community that the service exists and to encourage them to sign up.  During the beta test phase you may receive text messages and emails on the devices you register with the service.

We're asking you to click here for instructions if you elect to be involved in the beta test phase.   Once registered during this phase you will NOT have to re-register when the system goes live.

Thank you in advance for your time and attention to this important initiative.
