On July 1, 2013, it is anticipated that both the GSBS at SOM and the SOM will merge with Rowan University. This new university structure was enacted through the “New Jersey Medical and Health Sciences Restructuring Act”, which was signed into law by Governor Chris Christie on August 22, 2012. This restructuring will serve to strengthen higher education in New Jersey. Our partnership with Rowan University will provide greater opportunities in graduate education, medical education, research and patient care for South Jersey. It is expected that you will receive your degree from Rowan University as under this law UMDNJ ceases to exist on June 30, 2013.
