Summer Undergraduate Research Experience
 

Master of Science in Molecular Pathology and Immunology (M.S.; thesis)

In formal association with Medical Diagnostics Laboratories LLC (MDL) and HUMIGEN LLC, the Institute for Genetic Immunology (both of Hamilton, New Jersey), the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at the School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, New Jersey is offering a graduate program entitled “Master of Science in Molecular Pathology and Immunology”. The program is designed to prepare students for careers in diagnostic, immunology, molecular biology and pathology laboratories.

The 17 month program is designed to efficiently move students through a didactic and practical educational experience. Emphasis is placed on guided independent learning. This is coupled with practical experience in private sector biotechnology laboratory environments to train students in molecular aspects of biomedical diagnosis.

  • Fundamentals of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (I) (3 credits)
  • Fundamentals of Cell Biology (II) (3 credits)
  • Seminar in Molecular Pathology and Immunology (2 credits)
  • Topics in Molecular Pathology and Immunology (4 credits)
  • Ethics in Science, Research and Scholarship (2 credits)
  • Techniques in Molecular Diagnostics (2 credits)
  • Readings in Molecular Pathology and Immunology A and B (2 credits each)
  • Laboratory Rotation (Two rotations are required) (1 credit each)
  • Research in Molecular Pathology and Immunology I and II (1 and 2 credits, respectively)
  • Thesis Research / MSMPI (5 credits)
