Goals

The Plus One Residency Training program is an integral part of the School of Osteopathic Medicine's strategic goal to "establish a neurobiology/ neurosciences research focus on campus to build and promote basic and clinical research strengths in OMM...." The program's purpose is to train the academic leaders who will train the next generation of osteopathic physicians.

Center for Excellence for Academic Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine

The creation of an NMM/OMM residency program at UMDNJ-SOM is part of a larger plan to create a Center of Excellence for Academic Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at the school. A multi-year proposal has been submitted to a major foundation requesting seed money to establish a research culture related to OMM translational research and to develop a critical mass of researchers in translational OMM research. It also includes a request for funding for the new Plus One Residency program.
