Commission on Osteopathic
College Accreditation
Self-Study
Introduction
Due to the merger of the UMDNJ - School of Osteopathic Medicine with Rowan University, which becomes effective July 1, 2013, the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA), our accrediting body, has postponed its full site visit until October, 2014. In the interim, we remain fully accredited by COCA.
COCA will conduct a focused site visit on October 17 and 18, 2013 related to Standard One: Mission, Goals, and Objectives, and Standard Two: Governance, Administration, and Finance. During this focused site visit, the accreditation team members will conduct meetings and review documentation, but no formal self-study document is required prior to the visit.
In preparation for the Fall, 2014 full site visit, the School of Osteopathic Medicine will proceed with its school-wide self-study process, which is critical for maintaining the accreditation of our School.
The Steering Committee, which consists of faculty and administrators, will guide the self-study process and is currently chaired by Russell Griesback, DO, the Acting Dean for Education and Vivian Lubin, Chief Operating Officer.
