Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)

ERAS is the Electronic Residency Application Service commonly used by medical graduates or medical students in their final year of medical college to apply for specialized graduate training in internship and residency programs in the United States.  ERAS sends residency applications to program directors via the Internet.  This year, Osteopathic Residency Applicants must transmit applications using a current web browser, to apply for osteopathic internships and allopathic residency programs registered via ERAS.

However, applicants must also apply for the osteopathic match itself through National Matching Services (NMS) or for the allopathic match process through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).  You will find information about participating in ERAS as well as a list of participating programs at http://www.aamc.org/students/eras/start.htm.

The Office of Academic Affairs at UMDNJ-SOM distributes electronic token access (basically a password) to you to access ERAS in late June/early July. For the 2006 match, you may begin applying to osteopathic internship programs on July 15, 2005 and to allopathic residencies on September 1, 2005.

Remember to check individual application deadlines wherever you apply.
