Research Opportunities
The UMDNJ-SOM OPTI assists its trainees in performing postgraduate research and in meeting specialty college research requirements. Basic science and clinical faculty experienced in research form the core of the OPTI's resources and serve as mentors. The School of Osteopathic Medicine sponsors a Research Committee, which, in conjunction with the OPTI Executive Committee, monitors and oversees trainee satisfaction and progress in meeting research educational goals. The UMDNJ-SOM Department of Research can assist with research design and statistical support.
Library resources include access to MEDLINE and a full range of other nationwide database programs via links through the National Library of Medicine. Qualified library staff is available at all hospital sites and at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - School of Osteopathic Medicine's state-of-the-art campus library in Stratford. Research assistance and clinical mentors are available through each department and training program.
