Employment and Salary/Benefits

Most UMDNJ-SOM OPTI housestaff are University employees and all enjoy some of the highest salary and benefits packages available.

UMDNJ-SOM OPTI housestaff at the Kennedy Memorial Hospitals, Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center and Christ Hospital are members of the Committee on Interns and Residents (CIR), a collective bargaining unit. Salary and benefit information, as well as rights and responsibilities, work hours and call requirements, and other employee-related issues are outlined annually in the "Agreement between UMDNJ and the CIR." The CIR is currently being revised with changes noted in the following Memorandum of Agreement”.
