UMDNJ-SOM
The Clerkship Program

The Clinical Clerkship Program, available to medical students from all colleges of osteopathic medicine is based upon a highly structured team teaching concept, which actively involves attendings, fellows, residents, interns and other medical students continually interacting during the learning and patient care process.

UMDNJ-SOM OPTI has a diverse educational base providing rotations in a wide range of medical fields, all of which are available to you. In addition to ensure diversity of training, UMDNJ-SOM OPTI's six affiliate hospitals are throughout the state of New Jersey. From urban centers to suburban and rural settings, our affiliate hospitals provide clinical rotations in varied settings that help our visiting students gain exposure to clinical specialties in different learning environments. All rotations require access to an automobile.

Completing extramural clerkships with us provide you with an opportunity to become familiar with our locations, faculty and programs. Fore more information about clinical clerkships, contact the Office of Academic Affairs at (856) 566-6726.
